Noon til noon Race will be held rain or shine!!!
"NRC Pedal Masher $50.00 Fastest Lap" NRC Pedal Masher will present $50.00 to the male & female that turn the NRC Pedal Masher Fastest Lap during the 24 Hours of Rocky Hill. There is also an award of $50 to fastest Le Mans runner at the start of the race.
Prizes and Awards:
Solo Expert Male & Solo Female will receive 50% cash payback. Beautiful pottery platters to 1st place in all categories (1 per team) and individual pottery tiles for each teammate on 1st place teams. 2nd-5th in most categories (that fill) will receive prizes and/or plaques. We will have some giveaways in a racer raffle after the race!

Category Rule: If you have held a USA Cycling License in any of the last 3 racing seasons (including the current season), you must race in the category on your license. If you have NOT held a license in the last 3 seasons (including the current season), you should race in the category (beginner, sport or expert) that you would choose to race if you were to compete in any sanctioned mountain bike race on that day.
Categories:
GRANDE: Teams may have any number of riders up to a maximum of 8. A maximum of 2 (two) expert or pro riders per team -$100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration. Only pay registration fees for total number of riders on team. (example if your team has a total of 6 riders fees would be 6 x $100.00).
3-4 PERSON EXPERT-PRO: No age, category or gender requirements. - $100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
3-4 PERSON COED : No age or category requirements. Gender requirements: must have at least one member of the opposite sex on each team. - $100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
3-4 PERSON SENIOR SPORT: (Combined age must average less than 35 years of age per rider...example 4 riders <140 years of age). Riders must be sport or beginner. Riders can be of any gender-$100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
3-4 PERSON VET SPORT: (Combined age must average 35 years of age or higher per rider...example 4 riders = 140 years of age or more). Riders must be sport or beginner. Riders can be of any gender-$100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
3-4 PERSON FEMALE: No category requirements-$100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
2 PERSON OPEN: No age, category or gender requirements. $100.00 per person pre-registration, $115.00 per person late registration.
SOLO EXPERT MALE: (50% payback Expert) No category requirements - $125.00 per person pre-registration, $140.00 per person late registration.
SOLO SPORT MALE: Riders must be sport or beginner - $125.00 per person pre-registration, $140.00 per person late registration.
SOLO FEMALE: (50% payback) No category requirements - $125.00 per person pre-registration, $140.00 per person late registration.
Female solo riders that finish in the top 5 of the male solo riders will be placed in the male payback group. **NO CASH PAYBACK FOR MALE SOLO SPORT CATEGORY - PRIZES INSTEAD**

**Pre-registration must be postmarked no later than October 4, 2008 for pre-registration price and tshirt. Otherwise, please add $15 per racer late fee. Teams may sign up on race day but they will not receive t-shirts. Online Registration closes on at midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 15th. REGISTER ON SITE AFTER THIS DATE. DO NOT POST-MARK REGISTRATION AFTER SATURDAY, OCT. 11TH - IT WILL NOT ARRIVE AT OUR OFFICE BEFORE WE LEAVE TOWN FOR THE EVENT.
General Information
The Race
A 24 hour mountain bike relay race on a 10 mile course. Teams try to log as many laps as possible, with only 1 member riding at a time. The team with the most laps in the 24 hour time period wins.
Course Description
A 10 mile loop, 80% single track and 20% jeep road with several creek crossings. The single track winds through oak and pine groves combining quick down hills and technical sections. The course is marked with arrows for day riding, reflective tape for night riding. Map of this year's course: 24hr-Map08
Lights
NiteRider will be at the event and plans to bring a full inventory of lights "for sale" to racers at a discounted price. They will also have their rapid charging station available. It takes 9 hours to charge a battery. Ay Up will be at the race as well with lights "for sale" and also charging stations for racers using that lighting system.

Race check in & starting time
Teams can check in at Rocky Hill Ranch on Friday October 17, 2008 between 6:00pm 7:00pm. Teams can also check in at Rocky Hill Ranch on Saturday October 18, 2008 between 9:00am 10:30am. Prerace meeting is at 10:30am. The 24 Hours of Rocky Hill starts at 12:00 NOON!
There is an $5.00 per rider trail use fee and a $5.00 per person camping fee to be paid at Rocky Hill Ranch on race day. Camping fee covers Saturday night - Sunday afternoon. If you camp Friday night there will be an additional $5.00 camping fee for Friday night.
There are no ground fires allowed - no fires with rings only . You must have a fire bowl or BBQ pit for the fire - vessel that contains the fire must have a bottom.
Male Expert Solo & Female Solo 50% Payback: For example if there are 30 solo males with an entry fee of $100 each. 50 % of the total entry fee ($1500.00) will be paid back in prize money. *No payback for Male Sport Solo*
Camping & Land Use Fees
Primitive camping is $5 per person per night. There are showers available. There are 30 AMP RV hookups available for $15 per site. The RV sites also have water hookups. To make camping or RV reservations, CONTACT THE RANCH.

From Austin: Highway 71 East through Bastrop and take the 1st Smithville exit (approximately 11 miles from Bastrop) Turn left on FM 153 east. go 2.3 miles and you will see the old bike on the gate entrance to the left.
From Houston: I-10 west to Columbus, 71 west to LaGrange, stay on 71 west to Smithville, Right on FM 153 past Beusher State Park about 2.3 miles - Rocky Hill Ranch is on the left, there is an old bike hanging on the gate.
